UNIFORM POLICY

The school uniform may be purchased through Flynn & O’Hara School Uniforms by calling (800) 441-4122.  Parents can also download and complete an Order Form and fax it back to the company.  The proper uniform is as follows:
  • All 12th grade students must wear a navy or white Kennedy polo shirt.
  • All 9th, 10th & 11th - navy polo shirt only! Students must have on a plain white tee shirt under the polo shirt. At no time will a long sleeved tee shirt be worn under a short-sleeved polo shirt.
  • All 9th grade boys during the designated Winter Uniform (November 1 thru March 31), must wear a white dress shirt with a business type tie (no novelty ties) and a dress belt (black or brown belt). 
  • All 9th grade girls during the designated Winter Uniform (November 1 thru March 31) must wear white dress blouse with the school approved sweater or fleece.
  • All students must wear black dress shoes ONLY!   Laced shoes must be tied. Boys must wear a plain black or brown belt. No oversized belts or buckles, no ornaments of any kind should be on or attached to the belt. Buckle no larger than 2” x 2” (no designer belt buckles).
  • All students may wear the school approved Kennedy sweater or fleece. 
  • Girls must wear a khaki uniform skirt ONLY! The uniform skirt may not measure more than 1 inch above the knee.
  • Girls must wear beige or navy pantyhose or tights with the uniform skirt. (NO leggings or socks of any kind)
  • Girls may not wear outlandish makeup or nail polish.
  • Boys must wear properly sized khaki Docker style slacks ONLY!
  • Boys must wear socks.
  • Boys must be clean-shaven and have appropriate length hair.
  • Boys are not allowed to wear any jewelry, with the exception of a wristwatch and one ring; no makeup or nail polish.
  • Boys must wear shirts properly tucked into one’s pants, a dress belt must be worn. Pants must not be worn below the waist and must be of proper length. Pants must be clean, neat and pressed, and must not be bunched, pinned or frayed at the ankle. Split sides are not permitted. 

All Students:

  • NO sneakers, exercise shoes, construction boots or boots of any kind, high heels, platform shoes, open-toed shoes, flip-flops, sandals, moccasins, UGGS (or any similar style or fashion) and/or slippers. If it is determined by the Dean/Administration that boots may be worn due of inclement weather, students must change to dress shoes once they arrive at school.
  • NO baggy or cargo pants; no sweatshirts.
  • NO hats of any kind will be worn indoors, including du-rags, bandanas. Headbands, etc.
  • NO bare midriffs; no bare chests.
  • NO jewelry, tongue or body piercing. Exception – Girls may wear one small pair of stud earrings. ONLY ONE STUD PER EAR.
  • NO fad haircuts or fad bleached/dyed hair.
  • NO chains hanging from slacks, pockets, etc. No choker chains.
In other words, just the uniform, no substitutes, no additions. Uniform must be neat and clean as well as wrinkle free at all times.
 
Students out of uniform will receive a detention and NOT be permitted to attend class and will receive a grade of 0% for all missed assignments and tests until the student is in full uniform. A parent/guardian will be contacted to bring the appropriate uniform or to pick up the student. Any missed tests or assignments due to an illegal uniform may NOT be made up.
 
The school administration reserves the right to judge new trends as they emerge on the market to determine if they are in conformity with the dress code and other school regulations. The administration also reserves the right to alter the existing dress code, or other regulations based on student behavior and performance.
